Ingredients
- Vermicelli layer:
- 150 g vermicelli, roasted
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Cheese filling:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 100 g condensed milk
- 50 g cream cheese, softened
- Sugar syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 8 saffron strands
- 2 drops rose essence, optional
- Assembly:
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp pistachio, chopped

We start by crushing some roasted vermicelli and that we add some melted butter.

Mix it really well till it all comes together.

To make the filling mix together some milk and cornflour till there are no lumps.

Now heat on medium flame along with some condensed milk and cream cheese.

Cook the thickens really well and set aside.

Grease a non-stick pan with some butter.

To assemble the kuna'fa add half of the vermicelli mixture and on top of that add the filling that we just made.

Spread the filling really well and to that we are going to add some mozzarella cheese.

Add the other half of the vermicelli mixture and press it down with the spoon and give it a good shape.

Now we are going to cook this for 7 minutes on one side till it is golden brown and crispy.

Now flip it with the help of a plate and then cook again for 7-8 minutes till it is golden brown and crispy on the other side.

The kuna'fa base is now ready.
